What are the Factors that May Influence the Outcome of Anger Management?

According to the Safe and Responsible Schools Project, there are 3 factors which may affect the effectiveness of Anger Management programs: duration of the intervention, the perspective used in developing the program, and additional interventions. (Their information is based on having students as participants.)

As far as duration is concerned, it is presently maintained that, if the student/participant generally attends more than 12 sessions and also goes to additional sessions 12 months after the first intervention, then the Anger Management program becomes more effective. For the perspective in developing a program, it is vital that program developers produce a program which can be understood by the student/participant. This will guarantee that the Anger Management program is effective.

To ensure that the student/participant absorbs the maximum benefits of an Anger Management program, additional forms of intervention could be supplied. The Safe & Responsive Schools Project noted that students succeeded in significantly reducing their instances of misbehavior when they pursued weekly goals in addition to Anger Management education.

There are definitely benefits to be derived from anger management because students are trained in tools that help them manage their actions and responses to a possible problem.
